Okay chaps, plan is to do a quick blast on the Autoroute across to Le Touquet, then start the recce ride to Amiens from Le Touquet.

Travel time to Le Touquet - about 30 mins. Will need about two euros for the toll each.

From Le Touquet taking the route out as previously posted, then a slightly different route back.

Meet time at Eurotunnel - 7.00am to 7.15am for a cuppa / brekkie. Park directly outside the Terminal Building - go between the bollards and put your bikes just to the right of the building, next to the entrance.

Remember to bring:

EHIC Card
Passport
Travel Insurance Details
Bike Documents
Breakdown Cover Details

Fabrice you had two routes marked on your map, you said one was the original that I had marked out and one was a different route for getting back to Eurotunnel....for when we leave Amiens and head back home.

The recce route has to start from Le Touquet as that's where the ride will go from on the actual weekend and it has to tested.

No worries mate, you may have missed on the map last night the arrows I put on the routes.
The green route is for going to Amiens taking a nice scenic coast/somme valley road.
The red one is the one you originally put (with a slight mod toward the end to follow the river) and is quicker.
I think peeps will prefer the slower scenic route in the morning and will also prefer a quicker journey back to the hotel. This may have to be reversed though, depending on the timing we can agree with the hortillonnages

Same sentiment as Roughie from me to.

Also jealous of you all as I woke up to a beautiful day this morning thinking you are having breakfast at Folkestone and I had to do errands and opticians appointments ahead of me.

My new boss describes her biker husband (has 4 bikes) who takes her to Le2q for day trips. I have my wife interested in a visit to Le2q, but only in the car (told countless members about my spouse never getting on a bike).

Not involved with the D' day ride-out but this could work as a support aspect if a car was ever useful. Suggestions ?

You can always come over in the car, not a major issue Oggy.

Roughie, hope the knee is on the mend.

Thanks to all for coming along, I certainly enjoyed the ride today, reckon I covered just under 400 miles today.

It was a great day - thanks Nadeem for showing us some terrific roads.

My gps logger showed 409 miles door to door. I'm very glad I had put the Air Hawk on my seat otherwise I would have had a very sore backside!
