... I'm still struggling with this 30 pairs of boots thing!

I do a fair number of miles... and I've been riding for well over 30 years... I tend to have winter and summer boots and, in total, I think I've had 7 pairs. I'm still using two of those (plus I have a pair of bomb proof off-road ones somewhere in the loft). While I've had all of them re-soled a few times... 30 pairs.... phew.

Currently using Altberg Hogg originals for most of the year. These are on their 2nd soles, replaced by the company. Must admit though that I quite like the added shin protection on my higher winter boot though. However, these are a good trade off with comfort on and off the bike and protection.

It's the evil of mail order and being picky! It's not a case of wore out 30 pairs, some were simply sent back.

The altbergs are the next boots I'd have got if I had not tried the Pro boots, like you I miss the higher boot but the comfort (particularly when you ride to a location) is well worth it.

Altbergs look to be the last boot you need to buy as they will maintain them.

I went to the factory to make sure I got the right size, ended up with having some wide ones made.
I'm sure they will measure you up for whatever special requirements you need.
